Declaration of Sentiments (Short Ver)

 The words “Equal Justice Under Law” are carved in stone on the Supreme Court of the United States.
But those words have never fully applied to women, because women have never been afforded equal protection under the Constitution.

We hold these truths to be self-evident:
that all persons are created equal—
and that women are persons.

The Fourteenth Amendment guarantees equal protection of the laws.
Yet that guarantee has never been applied equally to women.

The Equal Rights Amendment was ratified in 2020.
It is part of the Constitution.
It is the law.
Yet it has not been implemented.

This is not equality.
This is not justice.

We call for full and equal protection of the law for women—
as required by the Constitution
and secured by the Equal Rights Amendment.
